Build the features that will delights our users

Alvin’s core tech generates a graph representing the connections between all entities within a data environment (people to dashboards, columns to ML models, jobs to tables etc.). Building use case driven features on top of this rich dataset that solves the biggest pains of data teams is where you come in.

As a front-end engineer at Alvin, you will be creating the beautiful interfaces that our users interact with. This will involve consuming APIs in different ways and building great experiences that allow Alvin's users to leverage our dataset. You will be working closely with an experienced UX designer.

If you don’t see yourself as a [language or framework X]-developer, but as a polyglot, then you’ll have the opportunity to flex what you know and learn what you don’t to find the right tool for the job. You like to auto-generate code (as much as you can) so you can focus on the fun part. We are already using Vue and Quasar, and we would love for you to show us what can be done better and introduce tools and frameworks that you have successfully used in the past.

We are fully remote, with an office in Tallinn, Estonia 🇪🇪 (roughly a 50/50 split). We believe it’s important for the whole team to have some overlap in working hours, therefore we require you to be located between UTC+4 and UTC-4. If you feel like working in the fastest growing startup hub in Europe, we can relocate you to Tallinn from anywhere in the world.

Job requirements

We’re looking for engineers who:

  • Are fluent in APIs, frontends and CLI tooling, and see them all as necessary pieces to build features that delight users.

  • Have experience leading and executing on major product initiatives.

  • Are able to work with multiple technologies, choosing the right tool for the job and learning new ones when needed.

  • Have a strong understanding of all the moving pieces of a complex web application.

  • Are comfortable mentoring fellow engineers.

  • Bonus: contributed to building an analytical or data product.

Compensation Range

The compensation for this role is €55,000-€80,000 annually if based in Estonia, and €40,000-€100,000 if remote, based on a cost of living calculation. You can read more about our reasoning and methodology here.
